Candidate Build -- FlyCast v1.25 available

Postby FlyCastRosco on Tue Nov 18, 2008 11:00 am

Hello everyone,

We have made some more changes to address some of the
issues you have been having, especially related to connections.
We are still working through these connection issues as best
we can. If you are on a GSM carrier and are roaming, please
enter your home network's APN information. If you don't know
your APN settings, you can try to find them at the following site:
http://www.pinstack.com/carrier_setting ... teway.html

What's new in this version:

More changes in networking and APN adjustments.
Minor bug fixes.

This build is available at this location and is version 1.25
http://www.flycast.fm/blackberry/candidate/flycast.jad

We will continue to monitor the forums so let us know if you
run into any issues. Thanks!

I am with AT&T and roaming in Canada on Rogers. Even if I set my APN settings to AT&T, it doesn't work. It doesn't even get me to the "Guide" screen. It's "Loading ......" for ages.

In the xplayer, there is an option to select APN, BIS, etc. What about FlyCast?

In continuing to work with BlackBerry, we will most likely never
be sending our traffic through BIS or BES. I don't think they want
to pay for our bandwidth.

So you see the Guide tab screen, but it just continues to say
Loading ... and you never get the guide?

Never get to the Guide. So, I close it and switch on my WI-Fi, I can get to the Guide and use Wi-Fi. I can never use it on network.

Still get cut outs and stations just won't start up. Haven't played with it long enough to see much improvements, but so far I don't see anything new. It must be Verizon, why does Verizon cause so many problems with streaming radio apps? Orb and moodio work fine but flycast and xplayer always get cut out. I don't get it.

I'm trying to get v1.25 to run on my AT&T Bold and it sits at Initializing and never gets further than that. I've tried to run it over 3G and also WiFi and get the same results. Previous version would work without any problems.

Using a Bold on Rogers in Canada. This release seems to have fixed the problem with not being able to load the guide..it loads fairly quickly now. However, I experience more problems with connecting to channels - connects and then doesn't maintain enough buffer so it drops. Some stations don't even connect at all. Previous version had no issues with connecting to channels for me. I'm using the correct APN settings for Rogers.
