Verizon 8330 v4.5.0.77

Downloaded it about 3 hours ago - listening to my favorite Mystery Theater

Pretty much the same issues:
Stops briefly a few minutes after starting.
Skips back a minute or so.
Stops Playing upon any device generated sound - alarm, incoming SMS alert sound.
Bluetooh headset (Plantronics 655E) doesn't work
Just shut off the BB after playing for about an hour - requiring a battery pull (may have coincided with incoming email).
Earlier stopped playing program after about an hour, requiring closing and re-starting Flycast.

About the only thing changed is it no longer shuts off when holstered.

Now that I found out the compatibility settings, the UI is fine. I am noticing now that the menu doesn't populate with anything but the red and blue headers for weather and the other one I cannot remember. The menus that are just black text, like Genre, do not come up anymore. One big thing that would be nice, since the other versions I have used as well, would be the ability to use the back button to go back to the last menu when you're playing a station, keep the current station or not, and browse the other stations that might have been under the genre you were just at. Right now hitting the back key leaves flycast altogether. The only way to check out other stations is to stop your current one, and go all the way back down the menu hierarchy.

The ability to revert back to the guide and search other
stations while continuing to listen to the current station
is coming. We are still finishing some other things for our
Storm specific version. Hitting the back key when not in
the guide should just minimize FlyCast but I think it does
make sense for that to revert to the guide screen once
you have the ability to toggle back and forth while still
listening.

So - here is what happens when I start a stream....

It starts playing and the line above the controls (which I assume is some sort of buffer indicator - I have never seen a help file - clicking on help yields a HTTP Error 404:Not Found message) starts to move to the right - first red, then yellow, then green. It goes as far as just above the pause button and stops. The stream stops after a minute or two for about a minute but the green line is the same. Then it starts again and the line starts from the left again. It progresses fairly rapidly to the right to above the remove favorites button and stops. Over time - it progressively gets shorter. That time varies - sometimes about an hour. Right now it has been playing for nearly 4 hours on Mystery Theater - my favorite channel. Currently it is back over the pause button. Eventually, it usually stops and up pops the message "Unable to access connection". Usually about 5 to 10 minutes into the stream, it will back up about a minute and start over.

BTW - over the weekend, I was unable to access that channel until Sunday evening. The same with Old-Time Radio and my other favorite - KQED FM. I forget the error message.... but eventually I was able to listen to KQED, and then OTR - I think on Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Mystery came back last night.

I don't think the pause buttons or go back to the top of the hour buttons work either.... I just took a shot and pressed pause since I was done listening, and when I pressed play I got a There was an error playing this station... message.

Finally - in the field of the Genres Guide it still reads "The Spirit Christmas 2008"

Huh? What compatibility settings?

BTW - speaking of the UI - I find it a pain to have to scroll down the whole guide to get to my favorites - seems like it should open with that screen and then have a button to go to the main guide. It doesn't make sense to me the way it is now.

If you are a Storm user, there is a BlackBerry compatibility setting that can be changed.
If you want to go right to Favorites, simply type 'f'. There are a lot of keyboard shortcuts.
You can find a list by clicking the menu key and choosing help.

No - as my signature says - I use a Curve (8330) and in a previous post I pointed out that clicking on Help yields a page not found error. Always has from day one.

Sorry for pointing you in a fruitless direction. The help file got lost
in a server migration. I have restored it back to the servers.
