Candidate Build -- FlyCast v1.29 available

Postby FlyCastRosco on Tue Jan 06, 2009 7:26 pm

Hello everyone,

We found a significant bug and wanted to get the fix out ASAP.
There is only one change here from 1.28 and it deals with low
bitrate stations. Some of our low bitrate talk stations run at a
different rate than others. There was a calculation error for
some of these stations. Please try this version if you have ever
had problems listening to any of these stations. These should
have been the only ones that were affected.

Good deal,

Do you think any of the issues regarding verizon's network will be resolved in the next update? Usually, when I connect to a staiton, it will disconnect me immediately on the first and 2nd try. Usually on the 3rd I'll get it to work for a bit (usually 5-20 mins) with cutouts occasionally. I'm not even sure if this is a verizion thing, but I would think since they have a different network. I'm operating on OS 4.5 Curve 8330 with full service EVDO.

Hi

Just wondered when a Storm-specific build might be imminent? Still having problems regarding logging in ie, always asks for APN settings. Sometimes it logs in automatically sometimes it doesn't.

Many thanks.

Hey Rosco, thanks for getting back to me.

I actually get the error on every station. Usually it says "There was an error playing this station. Please try again or choose a different station." Sometimes it just gives the "disconnected" error. I have in my favorites, WEEI Boston, 1Club Vocal Trance, and Vocal Trance. I get the error with all of these stations. Usually its right after it says "buffering" then it says "playing", then the error comes up without it actually playing anything.

Candidate Build -- FlyCast v1.29 borken on Bold

Postby brwatters on Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:51 pm

Well it appears that this latest build is broken as far as my Bold is concerned, it just sits and sits at the APN screen and will not advance.

BB OS 4.6.0.217

ATT. 3G

FYI, at no timr has APN ever worked via Flycast but WiFi does until this latest build.

brwatters,
Are you on the AT&T network or are you roaming?
(Sounds dumb) Have you tried doing a battery pull?

tom,
That is very strange. I can play all those stations
on my Verizon Curve running 4.5.0.77 I do have a
5 bar 1xEV strong connection. This may have something
to do with it. I will log this as another test.

Using 1.29 on the Storm 9530/Verizon OS 4.7.0.75. Flycast crashes upon receiving an SMS message. It's so far happened twice. App dies... Can't close it however I can app switch back to home. Can't get back into flycast afterwards so I'm assuming it's still just hung up & resident in memory. Takes a battery pull to get things sorted again. Just a heads up. Thnx!

Thanks for getting back to me Rosco.

Yeah I don't really understand why it does it. Everytime I open flycast, it does this. After about the 3rd attempt at listening to a station it will work. If I close flycast and open it again, the same thing happens. After my 3rd attempt, usually every station will work fine on the first attempt.

Why do I bother?! K here we go again. Solve issues just to have them replaced with others. Stations don't play like they did if at all. Buffers till about the pause butten, freezes, then comes back after 20 seconds. And now my blackberry Just crashed while loading 1.FM chill out lounge.. The error message was " uncaught exception.(196) flycast not responding. Maybe you should add someone else to the payroll my friend because obviously help is needed.
Also, can't serf the web sometimes after starting flycast. Says can't connect to server!
Blackberry Curve 8330 Telus CDMA.
