Candidate Build -- FlyCast v1.28 available

Went browsing the web for alternative apps and discovered that Radio Companion by Nobex is now working with streaming radio for blackberry. Wonder what their using for an interface cuz what was pretty crappy before,is now virtually perfection, except for the bluetooth adapter which doesn't work. But for 2 days now it seems to be pretty stable and almost all the stations work. No matter the signal strength. And the stations load and play quick. A pretty good example to look at flycast.

Got a question. I downloaded this to my Storm and did the "disable compatibaility mode" thing. When I clicked Flycast it asks me to log in. I give it the username and password that I did when I registered for the forum. But when I do it says that I have a username and password combination that is invalid. Help! Do I have to register within the application? If so, I cannot get to all of the fields to register and the keyboard does not work more than half the time. What am I doing wrong??

Never mind. I just figured it out. You have to register on your phone again. I was able to register and it does work great!! Now I have to chuck my xm satellite radio, get the unlimited data plan for my phone and I am in business. Thank you Flycast!!!!

This is probably a dumb question, but do I have to stop the currently playing radio station in order to browse for another station to play or can I browse for another station while a song is still playing? I have the Storm. Thanks for the help.

Never could actually. I dunno about the Storm and v1.28 but I have a Curve and it never was able to not cut off play while choosing another station. Try berry tunes. This app works well but a lot of stations are at low bit rate.(Low sound quality)

Rosco, to make it easier to roll-back to previous versions when problems are encountered, Can you please make the links to prior versions available (perhaps under the version topic in this forum)? When I clicked the current download link in the v1.22 discussion, I received 1.28 Only Don's posting saved me from giving-up completely on Flycast due to the poor connectivity with EDGE on ATT in 1.28!

I also want to emphasize the earlier comments about Nobix radio Companion connectivity vs Flycast - they have Great (nearly 100% in my experience) stability! Their downside is that their stations have the normal FM radio infomercial schedule

What I don't understand is why flush an older version when the option to perfect that one first therefore making it work for literally hundreds of thousands of units sold and already in circulation than perfect it for devices that have just come out. Eg. Blackberry Storm. I do understand that its the holidays and that does slow things down I'm sure but Flycast does have some competition out there and you'd think they be more on the ball. As I mentioned,I really believe this app has potential and I do prefer the sound quality compared to other apps but don't forget bandwidth, as a lower bandwidth will allow you to listen to your music and surf the net at the same time, higher bandwidth(great sound quality) will not. Or will cut out on you frequently.
As for older versions,think its Flycasts disadvantage by not making them available. And its really frustrating to,click on v1.22 and get v1.28. Like we got time to waist. Would be better I think to finish what was started before going on to the next. Even if it means different apps/versions for different devices. Just gotta label them that's all.

The biggest problem I have is that the keyboard simply will not collapse. This was just a nuisance before 1.28 because the selections and configuration screens were completely visible. Now I actually cannot see some of the configuration screens and some of the listings are covered by the keyboard. Please make the keyboard collapsible - I haven't even seen anywhere where it is needed besides configuration anyway!

All, I have the blackberry storm and installed v1.28 but still get the application wanting me to register in vertical mode rather than horizontal with the individual keys. Also, once i put in my email, i can't get to the next line to enter a password, a menu comes up asking for Help, Close or Switch Applications. I have Deleted Flytunes in Advanced Applications and have cleaned Browser Cache, Cookies, History, etc. Any thoughts to get it working in horizontal mode?? Thanks, Bruce
